Privacy notice
He sees all. We see very little, and only what you allow.

Who is responsible
speeb.org is run by the Church of Speeb, which decides how the little personal data described here is used. For any question about it, or to use any of your rights, write to speeb@speeb.org.
In short
- There are no accounts, and nothing you type into the rites is sent to us.
- Google Analytics runs only if you allow it, and it is never used for advertising.
- The map, the face tracker and the offering form come from other services, and each loads only when you ask for it.
- Your settings and progress are kept in your own browser, and you can clear them at any time.
Google Analytics, only with your agreement
When you first arrive, a notice asks whether we may count your visit. Until you choose Allow analytics, Google's analytics script is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Refusing changes nothing else on the site.
If you allow it, Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_V576J6338M, kept for up to two years) and records the pages you open, how you arrived, the kind of device and browser you use, and your approximate location, which Google works out from your IP address and then discards. Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off. We use the result only to see which parts of the temple are read.
The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with , also found at the foot of every page. Withdrawing deletes the analytics cookies from your browser. We will ask again after twelve months.
Google Ireland Limited processes this data for us as a processor. Google may transfer it to the United States, where Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. See Google's privacy policy.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. To deliver pages and protect the site from attack, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details such as the time and the page asked for, and keeps them only briefly. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website (Article 6(1)(f)). Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
What is kept in your browser
The site remembers a few things in your browser's local storage so that it works as you left it. These stay on your device. They are not sent to us or to anyone else, and they are not used to track you. They are only set when you use the feature, and they are needed for that feature to work, so they do not need consent. Clearing your browser's site data removes them all.

Offerings
The Submit an Offering button opens a Google Form, hosted by Google. If you send an offering, Google stores what you put in the form for us. We read it to decide whether to add it to the Reliquary or the Testimonies, and we keep it only as long as that takes, or for as long as the accepted form or testimony is shown. Do not put anything in an offering that you would not want published. The legal basis is your consent, given by sending it. To have an offering removed, write to speeb@speeb.org.
The map of Sightings
The map on Meowifestation Sightings loads only after you press Show the map. Its code comes from cdnjs, run by Cloudflare, and the map pictures come from the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Both receive your IP address and the part of the map you view, as any website you visit would. Your sightings themselves stay in your browser. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy.
The camera in the Unblinking Contest
If you press Begin, your browser asks to use your camera. The picture is examined on your device to see when your eyes close. It is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. To do this, the page downloads Google's MediaPipe face-tracking files from jsDelivr and from Google's servers, which receive your IP address in the process. You can play without a camera instead, and then nothing is downloaded.
Speaking to the Oracle
Speeb Speaks, on the Oracle page, uses your browser's own speech recognition. It turns on the microphone only after you press Ask aloud, and only until you stop speaking. In Chrome and Edge the browser sends that recording to Google or Microsoft to be turned into words; in other browsers it may be done on your device. We never receive the recording or the words. If you would rather not, write the question instead.
Installing the temple
The site keeps copies of the pages and pictures you have opened in your browser's cache, so that it can still be read without a connection and installed as an app. Like the rest of the site's storage, these stay on your device.
Fonts, links and other sites
The fonts and images of the temple are served from speeb.org itself, so reading a page sends nothing to Google or any other font service. Links to other sites, such as a helpline or a book of scripture, take you to places with their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and have it corrected, deleted or restricted. You may object to its use, ask to receive it in a portable form, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting what happened before. Write to speeb@speeb.org and we will answer within one month. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.
The site is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this notice changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
